If so, a stop motion workshop is the answer!

WHAT TO EXPECT

During the 2-hour workshop, I’ll walk you through the process of making your very own stop-motion videos from developing concepts to shooting to editing your final videos!

You'll learn:

  • Quick tips to get set up for stop-motion success

  • How to make a simple animation, moving an object of choice from one side of the frame to the other

  • How to tell a story by shooting your video backwards (this is a sneaky trick that works so well!)

  • All about replacement animation and when you should use it

All in all, you'll make 3 guided videos plus any more should time allow at the end. You’ll also get a behind the scenes peek at my entire workflow, so you can feel confident creating videos on your own moving forward.

  • This workshop is for anyone interested in learning stop motion, whether you’re familiar with photography or not. I’ve taught to groups of both adults and children for events like:

    Company team building workshops

    Photography teams looking to expand their skillset

    School art and media classes or in-school field trips

    Groups of friends just wanting to try something new

  • Nope! All you need is your phone or iPad and a tripod that allows you to shoot from overhead (I’ll help you find the right one!)

    If you prefer to use your camera, that’s great! Just let me know and I’ll make sure you have everything you need.

  • I offer this workshop both in-person at a location of your choosing and online.

    In-person workshops are available at no additional charge if you’re in the Chicagoland area. Workshops in other areas will incur a travel fee.

  • Typically this workshop lasts 2 hours, but I’m happy to work with you to meet your timeframe needs.

  • This workshop focuses on the principles of stop-motion animation. If you’re already familiar with a camera, but are new to stop motion, this workshop will be great for you!

    If you’ve got the basics of stop-motion down, let me know, and I’ll be glad to teach you some more advanced techniques.
